on Jun 09, 2025
Country singer Conner Smith was behind the wheel of a truck that hit an elderly woman crossing a Nashville street over the weekend.
Law enforcement reported that Smith, 24, was driving a Chevy Silverado in Nashville on Sunday, June 8, when he failed to yield to a pedestrian crossing the street. The victim, 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins, was struck by the truck. She was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where she later died.
A statement released by Metro Nashville Police states that Smith failed to “yield the right of way to the pedestrian,” but was not impaired at the time of the accident. The “I Hate Alabama” singer is currently not facing any charges.
Worrick G. Robinson, an attorney representing Conner Smith, released a statement on his client’s behalf, saying:
“On June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life. His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins’ family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.”
