In Creed Fisher’s hit song “The Way That I Am,” he sings, “‘Cause I’ve been through hell / I’ve been locked up in jail / Left out in the cold / I’ve been drunk, I’ve been stoned / Goin’ out of my mind…”
Now, those lyrics take on an extra layer of meaning for the Texas-based country artist.
On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Christopher Creed Fisher, 52, was booked into the Comal County Jail, having been arrested by the New Braunfels Police Department in New Braunfels, Texas, on July 28.
Held on a surety bond of $4,000, according to the booking data in the Comal County Jail, he is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd Offense.
Details on his arrest and the charge are not yet entirely clear, but Fisher shared his mugshot to social media on July 29 after he had been released.
Captioning the mugshot, he simply wrote, “Yes I’m ok and yes I went to jail. I’m out and heading home.”
His next court date is not presently known.
When his alleged first DWI occurred is not presently known, but he posted on Facebook in September of 2024 that he was celebrating one month of sobriety.
