“It’s crazy,” he said. “It’s been like nonstop just getting messages … It’s kind of overwhelming and humbling.”
John Maxim and David Cline hid the box last month and shared a photo on Instagram with a poem that leads to the treasure.
Over a thousand people showed up to Utah after the Cline family said the treasure was somewhere in the state and that they’d be giving out weekly hints of its whereabouts.

Andy said he found it around 2pm on Monday at a place called Heughs Canyon Trail, at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Utah. He and his wife were searching where they thought it would be and spent the night not far from where it was.
“I woke up yesterday morning and I just had a feeling like it’s right there, it’s got to be right there,” Andy told FOX News. “So I just got up and went out, kind of retraced our footsteps and went a little higher and I was standing on top of it in a few hours. It was crazy.”
He plans to take his daughters to Disneyland and pay off some debts with his winnings. Last year in 2020 John and David did a similar event where they hid $5000 in cash to motivate citizens to go outside and enjoy nature.
“They’re really doing good stuff for the community,” Andy said.
John and David’s treasure was hidden all summer in 2020 and hoped the 2021 event would last as long as the year before but it only lasted four days this year. Check out the footage of the find below.
