Most animal owners will do anything to protect their “babies” from harm. That’s exactly what happened over the weekend to Danica Patrick.

The retired NASCAR driver is a proud dog mom to two pups, who she referred to as “Queen D” and “Princess Ella” in a recent National Puppy Day post. She often shares about their adventures on her Instagram page, which has over 790,000 followers.

Over the weekend, she told her followers that one of her dogs was being attacked by coyotes and she got in between them! She shared a photo on her Instagram Story showing off her legs and arm, which had scrapes and bruises on them.

“Mom coming in hot to save my baby from the coyotes,” she wrote on the photo. “You should see my face!”

Moments later, she posted a photo of her face with a couple scrapes and said, “I’m looking for you coyotes. In the meantime tree branches found my face.

Getting in between a coyote and a dog can be very dangerous! We are happy this story turned out the way it did and not worse.
