Davey Allison’s Widow Hurt In “Freak Accident”

The wife of one of NASCAR’s most-famous drivers has been involved in a freak accident this week, and her injuries remain unknown.

Liz Allison, who was married to famous NASCAR driver Davey Allison from 1989 until his death in 1993, has been a trackside media member, reporter, and commentator for more than 25 years. But now, she has been involved in a terrifying accident that has folks praying for her.

Named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers of all time, there’s no question in anyone’s mind what a superstar Davey Allison was on the track – and off, especially when it came to his kids.

Davey, who is the son of famed racer Bobby Allison, was an incredible father to his two children and a great husband to his wife Liz.

Because of the sacred bond they shared and their deep connection, she has dedicated her life to keeping his memory alive and celebrating him at every opportunity since his tragic 1993 death.

Many fans keep up with what’s going on with Liz and her kids through her website and Twitter account. That’s exactly where the information about her “freak accident” came from, and the news was revealed on May 10th, with her daughter Bella taking over her account.

“Hey y’all this is Bella,” she wrote on her mom’s Twitter. “My mom was in a freak accident on Tuesday and she has a concussion. She’s on bed rest. Just say a little prayer for a quick recovery for her!”

With that, several thousand people responded with well wishes, prayers, and words of comfort for this bizarre and random accident that occurred.

In a follow-up message, Bella typed up a message from her mom to explain that she was on the mend – but that she was still suffering from complications.

“I cannot even begin to tell you all what your prayers and well wishes have meant to me over the last eight days,” Liz’s message through Bella said. “I am doing well, every day better than the day before. Very limited screen time due to concussion so cannot respond to everyone but know that Bella is reading all to me.”

While we still don’t know what exactly happened to Liz or how serious the injuries are, some folks are telling her to speak with the same specialists that Dale Jr. used to overcome his massive series of concussions that forced him to retire.
