Deer Goes Through Woman’s Windshield On Georgia Highway

Wildlife are a hazard that face motorists every day. Whether deer, dog, squirrel or armadillos (if you live in the south), animals are a cause of many traffic accidents due to their unpredictable and erratic nature.

One Georgia woman found herself with a traveling companion after a deer ran out of the woods, onto the highway and into her car. The deer crashed through her windshield and landed in the front floor board.

“Not a good way to start the morning,” Jones County Sheriff Butch Reece said on Facebook. “I knew it was cold this morning. I guess the deer was looking for a little heat or maybe trying to get away from a hunter in the woods but whatever the reason he tried to hitch a ride.”

Reece posted a photo showing the dead deer in the vehicle’s front seat after crashing through the windshield and a photo of the exterior of the car that shows the shattered windshield.

Reece said that the driver was not injured “but she didn’t care for a riding partner either.”
