Did A Duck Really Run The NYC Marathon?
on Nov 11, 2021 • Updated Jan 29, 2023
Wrinkle the Duck has gathered quite a lot of attention after running in this year’s New York City Marathon that took place on November 7th, 2021.
It’s a 26.2-mile race that starts at 8:00am and takes place on a route that goes through the city. On this particular race, the weather was between 44 and 51 degrees. Even so, that didn’t stop Wrinkle the Duck from participating.
The video showed the little duck all strapped up in custom footwear gear that wrapped around her webbed feet as she ran down the middle of the street with the runners.
The duck may have been smaller and not equipped with human feet, but she still ran at an impressive pace right alongside everyone else.
New York City Marathon onlookers cheered as the duck ran while runners also looked in awe as they passed by her. Cameras got in front of her and filmed as the duck ran with purpose.
The feathered fowl ran for a while, but after getting tired out, she walked off to the side of the track to drink some water and lay down for a quiet rest.
