While her dad, Duane Chapman, prepares for his upcoming wedding to Francie Frane in September, Cecily Chapman has called off her own nuptials.

Cecily is the adopted daughter of Duane, who is also known by his nickname “Dog the Bounty Hunter.” He adopted Cecily after he married her mother, Beth, when Cecily was 12 years old.

Young Cecily was enamored with how beautiful her mother looked when she married Dog. She told The Sun she always dreamed of wearing her wedding dress when she got married herself one day.

The day she got married to my dad I thought she looked so beautiful – it was the most beautiful dress I could ever imagine,” Cecily.

Cecily’s dream of wearing her mother’s wedding gown became all more important to her after Beth passed away in 2019. She said wearing the dress would make her feel like Beth was still with her on her special day. Though she eventually decided not to wear the dress because she didn’t want to alter it.

When Cecily gave the interview about Beth’s dress, she was in the middle of planning her wedding to her longtime love Matty Smith. The couple got engaged in 2018 and lived together in Hawaii.

Cecily and Matty intended to wed in Hawaii on December 1, 2021. However, the wedding is no longer happening.

In a new interview with The Sun, Cecily announced that she and Matty have called off their wedding. “I am not getting married,” she told the outlet.

Although Cecily and Matty are not getting married as planned, she says they haven’t officially ended their relationship. However, they are taking a “break” for the time being.

It could be a year, it could be six months, it could be two years, it can be a long time. So, we’re just not sure,” she said. “I’m definitely not in a rush to get married.”

Cecily also mentioned that she has plans to move away from Hawaii and make a new home on the East coast.

This news comes around the same time Cecily shared she has not received an invitation to her dad and Francie’s wedding on September 2. She said she and Dog have only seen each other twice since 2019.

In spite of everything, Cecily said she would still attend Dog and Francie’s wedding if he wanted her to be there. “If he asked me to go, sure I would, he is still my dad,” she said.

Our hearts go out to Cecily during what is surely a tough time for her. We wish her the best as she prepares to enter this new phase of her life.
