Dolly Parton Calls Out AI-Generated Images Of Her On Her “Deathbed”
Over the past few weeks, rumors have been circulating about country legend Dolly Parton’s health after she canceled several upcoming appearances due to some ongoing challenges.
After fans heard that Dolly was having health issues, people started to worry. The news spread fast online, and soon there were all kinds of rumors about how serious her condition might be.
The rumors got so out of hand that Dolly decided to clear things up herself. On October 8, she posted a video on social media to let everyone know she wasn’t nearly as sick as people were saying.
“Well, today’s October the 8th, and obviously I’m here. … Do I look sick to you?” Parton said, adding that she was currently filming for the Grand Ole Opry.
She continued, “I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease, those that seem to be real concerned, which I appreciate – and I appreciate your prayers, ’cause I’m a person of faith, I can always use the prayers for anything and everything – but I want you to know that I’m okay!”
The “Jolene” singer also addressed an AI-generated photo that had been going around online, which falsely showed her lying on her “deathbed” with fellow country star Reba McEntire standing beside her.
“Did you see that AI picture of Reba and me?” Dolly exclaimed. “Oh lordy.”
She continued, “If I was really dying, I don’t think Reba would be the one at my death bed. “She might come visit me earlier.”
Dolly did take a moment to explain what was really going on. She shared that after her husband, Carl Dean, passed away in March, she hadn’t been taking care of herself like she should. That led to a few health problems, but she assured everyone it was “nothing major.”
“When I got around to it, the doctor said we need to take care of this..we need to take care of that.. nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home.”
She added that she wanted to make sure everyone knew that “I’m not dying.”
Reba Has A Hilarious Response To The Fake Photo Of Her And Dolly
Once Dolly’s video put fans’ minds at ease, Reba McEntire weighed in to back her up and call out the rumors, too.
She posted a hilarious video on Instagram, poking fun at the AI-generated photo that Dolly had mentioned.
“You tell ’em Dolly,” she began.”That AI mess has got us doing all kind of crazy things.”
“You’re out there dying, I’m out here having a baby… well both of us know you’re too young and I’m too old for any of that kind of nonsense,” she said.
All jokes aside, Reba took a moment to send her well-wishes to Dolly while she gets better.
“You better know I’m praying for you. I love you with all my heart, and I can’t wait to see you soon. Love you.”
Fans loved that Reba spoke up about all the online craziness, and messages of support for both her and Dolly quickly poured in:
“Both of you addressing the AI mess is hilarious, I love it and BOTH of you”
