This had to hurt…

The Robertson family, of Duck Dynasty fame, were enjoying their 4th of July celebration when it took a drastic turn. The day started out on a great note. They were surrounded by family and friends at their home, where they had a huge feast followed by a large, homemade slip and slide in the backyard.

Later on in the evening, Willie Robertson, his wife Korie, and three of their children Sadie, Will, and Bella, played a few friendly games of tennis. As fans of Duck Dynasty, we know that this family thrives on competition, so friendly games of tennis obviously turned into extremely competitive games!

Sadie documented this on her Instagram story, showing off just how much she was sweating in between sets, meaning that this was in no way just a “friendly” game to her and her opponent, her mom Korie.

Unfortunately, the game was cut short because Korie sustained a debilitating injury. In an Instagram post after the game, she revealed to her followers that she had torn her calf muscle.

Who knew a torn calf muscle could hurt this bad?!? Getting around today with crutches and a boot and praying for quick healing,” she said in the post.

She knew something happened when she heard and felt a pop, and blamed the injury on not stretching before playing a match in the 100 degree weather. According to PhysioWorks.com, recovery from a torn calf muscle can take anywhere from two weeks to several months depending on the severity of the injury, and whether or not it requires surgery.

We can’t imagine what kind of pain Korie is in! PhysioWorks also says that the first few days after the injury are the worst, and quite disabling. We will keep Korie in our prayers for a quick and speedy recovery.

Watch Korie, Willie, their son John Luke, and his wife Mary Kate, play a “friendly” game of tennis from Season 8 of Duck Dynasty below.
