Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Has Made A Staggering Amount Of Money… But How Much, Exactly?
on • Updated

Last week, Ella Langley‘s “Choosin’ Texas” broke the record for most weeks at No. 1, with a total of 23 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
As of Sept. 28, “Choosin’ Texas” has maintained its lead on the charts for a 24th week.
Ella Langley’s record-setting run with this song is impressive, especially when considering that she had fewer than a million monthly listeners on Spotify in 2023, CBS News reported, compared to her present 32 million monthly listeners.
With a hit song, time spent on the charts is indicative of the song earning a considerable amount of money… but how much has “Choosin’ Texas” earned?

How Much Money Has “Choosin’ Texas” Made?
Money isn’t everything, but for an artist like Ella Langley, it’s been a perk of the success she’s seen.
Before she released “Choosin’ Texas” as the lead single on her second album, Dandelion, Langley was enjoying the success of her 2024 debut album, Hungover.
Songs like “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Weren’t For The Wind” — the latter of which was released as a track on the deluxe rerelease version of Hungover, titled Still Hungover — helped Langley be able to purchase her first home.
Speaking on the show Katie & Company in the summer of 2025, Langley said of her eight-year pursuit of a career in country music:
“To be able to kind of enjoy the fruits of your labor, for the first time … it’s so cool.”
Now, with a record-breaking No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, in the form of “Choosin’ Texas,” there’s certainly money coming in.
Utilizing global data from Luminate, Billboard estimates that “Choosin’ Texas” has brought in a total of about $13.9 million, as of figures available on Sept. 14.
Within the United States alone, the song has brought in an estimated $10.5 million.
This figure is arrived at by looking to audio streams, global video streams and digital sales, in addition to domestic radio airplay.
Notably, the estimated revenue does not tabulate the percentage of dividends that Langley herself is taking in, as the terms of her contract with Sawgod and Columbia Records (a subsidiary of Sony Music Group) is not publicly disclosed.
As of the Sept. 14 data regarding “Choosin’ Texas,” Billboard estimated the song generated $2.4 million as a result of accruing more than 977,000 airplay spins, according to Luminate.
Global publishing royalties, Billboard estimated, have brought in nearly $6 million, with global label revenue at nearly $8 million.
However, that figure on global label revenue excludes revenue and publishing royalties pertaining to the album “Choosin’ Texas” is on, Dandelion.
Billboard noted that Sony Music Group did not provide comment on the estimated revenue brought in by “Choosin’ Texas.”
