Ella Langley Performs Two Sold-Out Shows At The Ryman
Alabama native Ella Langley is quickly making a name for herself amongst country music’s leading artists. In addition to being tied for the most nominations at the upcoming CMA Awards, Ella performed back-to-back sold-out shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium over the weekend.
The Ryman is one of Nashville’s most revered venues. It housed the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974 and was the setting for many iconic country music moments.
The second of the two shows was the “Choosin’ Texas” singer’s final show of her Still Hungover Tour and her last headlining show of the year. Afterwards, she shared a message of gratitude:
“Thank you to everyone who bought tickets to these shows, to everyone listening to the music. To my team & crew. None of this is possible without y’all. Ending this year feeling so incredibly grateful for this life.”
Morgan Wallen Joins Ella Langley For A Surprise Duet
On Saturday, November 8th, Ella shocked the Nashville crowd when she invited Morgan Wallen to join her on stage. Together, they performed a duet of the emotional ballad, “Cover Me Up.”
“Cover Me Up” was originally written and released by Jason Isbell on his 2013 album, Southeastern. The deeply personal song was written for his wife, Amanda Shires, and reflects on the role she played in his recovery from alcoholism.
Morgan Wallen officially released his version of the song on his album, Dangerous: The Double Album, although he had been covering it live for some time before that. Even though it was never formally released as a radio single, Wallen’s rendition landed on Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and the Canadian Hot 100 charts between 2019 and 2020.
