It’s hard to believe Ella Langley’s hit, “Choosin’ Texas,” has been out for an entire year now.
Since its release, the song has broken several records, including securing a spot as the longest running No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Choosin’ Texas” made its debut on the chart in November 2025, marking Ella’s fifth career entry. By February 2026, the song had climbed to the top spot, where it quickly became a fan favorite and continued its impressive run on the chart.
During the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards, the hit took home both Song of the Year and Single of the Year.
Ella co-wrote “Choosin’ Texas” alongside country superstar Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor. Released in October 2025, the song served as the lead single from her second studio album, Dandelion.
Following the Billboard record, Ella took to social media to thank fans for their continued support. The country star shared that the success of “Choosin’ Texas” has not only changed her own life, but has also made a significant impact on the lives of those closest to her.
On Saturday (October 17), Ella shared a little real life documentation of what actually went into the creation of “Choosin Texas.”
“One year of Choosin’ Texas 🤍 This song… I am constantly & consistently amazed by what this song has done & how much y’all continue to love it,” Ella wrote in the caption.
With Miranda standing in the background, Ella showed a glimpse of what happened in the recording studio, and how exactly the song came together.
“You’ll never know how much it means to me & everyone involved in making it come to life, thankful is an understatement. Here’s to 365 days of madness,” she continued.
It’s hard to believe “Choosin’ Texas” has been out for just one year, but it’s already proving it has all the makings of a timeless hit.
