Ginger Alden and her fiancé, Elvis Presley, had an interesting start to their relationship, meeting for the first time when Ginger was barely out of preschool. Fifteen years later, however, Ginger accompanied her sister Terry on a trip to meet Elvis, and she found herself blown away by the singer’s presence and striking appearance.

Of her second time meeting Elvis, Ginger said, according to Express,  “I know this sounds funny but when Elvis entered the room, I thought trumpets would sound. He looked so handsome. He quickly sat in a chair and started talking with each of us. It turned out to be a truly wonderful evening as he took us on a tour of Graceland.”

The day that the pair got engaged, Ginger felt that something at Graceland was a little bit different. Surprisingly, Elvis called his 21-year-old girlfriend into the bathroom to tell her how much he loved her, and then, they moved together into the backyard.

According to Ginger, as soon as they reached the backyard, Elvis said, “I never thought that I would find it in my own backyard, I’m asking you, will you marry me?”

Sadly, the wedding never occurred, as Elvis passed away just a few short months later.
