Widow Of Charlie Kirk Seen Crying As She Was Evacuated From The Event

This evening, President Donald Trump was set to deliver remarks at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner for the very first time, but the event has been postponed after a shooter opened fire in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, as well as Vice President JD Vance, were escorted from the event, with Secret Service and Law Enforcement responding to the scene.

Among those who were in attendance of the annual dinner that brings together reporters and media outlets that cover the White House was Erika Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point USA.

Of course, Erika is the widow of Turning Point USA founder, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Sept. 10, 2025, at an event at Utah Valley University.

Erika and Charlie had two children together.

As five shots rang out from the lobby of the Hilton Hotel around 8:30 p.m. on April 25, law enforcement quickly responded, evacuating the Trump administration and other individuals.

The suspect, identified as Cole Allen, 31, was then apprehended, with Trump releasing footage of “this thug” rushing through security at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

As a guest of Fox News, Erika Kirk was seated at the news network’s table at the dinner.

Her attendance at the Correspondents’ Dinner comes just two weeks after she canceled an appearance at a TPUSA event.

Back on April 14, Erika canceled an appearance at an event at the University of Georgia after “serious threats” were made against her. The event went on without her, with Vice President JD Vance as the guest speaker.

The next day, on April 15, Secret Service released a statement to CBS News saying there were “no credible threats” at the UGA event.

Notably, HHS Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated in 1968, was also in attendance.
