Erika Kirk took to social media to express her thoughts on her first Father’s Day without her late husband, Charlie.
On September 10, 2025, conservative commentator and Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking on a college campus in Orem, Utah.
He co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012, seeking to inspire the younger generation to embrace free speech. According to its website, Turning Point’s mission is to “identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government.”
Since his death, millions of people around the world honored his legacy.
Erika Kirk Becomes CEO Of TPUSA
Just a few days after his death, Charlie’s wife, Erika, delivered her first speech following the fatal shooting. Erika talked about the impact Charlie left here on this earth and the movement that he started to inspire young people and point them to Christ.
She spoke from Charlie’s podcast studio in Arizona, reflecting on his bold life of action and love while standing next to his empty chair. Erika told the country that the evil that was done to her husband “unleashed” an entire generation that would rise up and stand for what they believed was right.
On September 18, Turning Point USA announced that its board had unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the organization’s new CEO and Chair of the Board.
Erika Shares Touching Message To Charlie For Father’s Day
Writing a message directly to Charlie, Erika shared an emotional tribute on this first Father’s Day without him here on earth.
“It’s Father’s Day, I still wrote you your letter (I will the rest of my life). GG has it waiting for you by your coffee mug. I’ll save them all for our son when he gets older,” Erika wrote.
She then thanked Charlie for making her a wife and mother, and for loving their family so well, saying they would always miss him.
“Thank you for all the times you’ve prayed over our family. Thank you for living your life in such a way to be an incredible example to other Fathers. Thank you for all the sacrifices you’ve made. You will forever be an extraordinary father. Forever,” Erika continued.
