Whether you’re a Southern lady or you simply daydream about sitting on a wraparound porch in Louisiana, sipping sweet tea, and enjoying the warm breeze, it’s likely that you’re a fan of the beloved favorite Steel Magnolias. The iconic film transports viewers to a Southern world as soon as the opening scenes begin.

Now, you don’t just have to dream about immersing yourself in the slowed-down pace of the play and movie–you can go to Natchitoches, Louisiana, and live it.

That’s right: there’s a town dedicated to creating a Steel Magnolias experience for visitors. If you’re ready to dive deep into your favorite Southern film, it’s time to book a trip to this quaint Louisiana hot spot.

When Steel Magnolias filmed in Natchitoches in 1988, the area was changed forever. While the town was transformed into the fictional parish Chinquipin, the quaint backdrop of Natchitoches provided the perfect setting for the movie.

The tour takes Steel Magnolias fans directly to the landmark Steel Magnolias house, now known as the Steel Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast (yes–you can stay there!).

Along with your tour and bed-and-breakfast stay, be sure to pick up some Steel Magnolias memorabilia (and other Southern treats) before you head home.
