If you’re out and about on Friday, September 18, and craving a burger, you may be in luck. A long list of fast-food restaurants will be giving away free cheeseburgers all day long to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day.

One of the most popular chains that probably comes to mind when you think of cheeseburgers is McDonald’s. Participating locations will be giving away free Double Cheeseburgers with a minimum $1 purchase.

If you plan to make a trip to Mickey D’s, though, keep in mind the offer is only available through the McDonald’s app for MyMcDonald’s Rewards members and can only be redeemed once per person.

Keep scrolling to see which other fast-food chains will be giving away free items or offering discounts for National Cheeseburger Day.

Burger King

Burger King Rewards members can start taking advantage of the deals today, September 17, with a free hamburger when they make a $3 or more purchase through the app.

The specials continue throughout the weekend, with a free Bacon Cheeseburger on Sept. 18, a free four-piece nugget on Sept. 19, and a free Original Chicken Sandwich on Sept. 20.

Each offer requires a $3 or more purchase.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s

If you have a Carl’s Jr. near you, you can head to the restaurant on Thursday, Sept. 17, or Friday, Sept. 18, and get any burger for half price with the purchase of any hand-scooped ice cream shake. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to be a member of the rewards loyalty program to get the deal.

If you’re closer to a Hardee’s, rewards members are being offered a buy-one, get-one-free deal on Friday, Sept. 18. Members can buy one Famous Star Cheeseburger and get another one free.

Red Robin

Red Robin is giving customers a chance to win free burgers in honor of National Cheeseburger Day. Keep an eye on the restaurant’s social media pages and official website on Sept. 18, when they’ll share a post you can comment on and provide an online entry form for the giveaway.

Ruby Tuesday

Of course, burgers are one of Ruby Tuesday’s specialties, so the chain is giving customers plenty of options to choose from at a great price. On the holiday, customers can pick from six different burgers, each served with fries or tots, for just $6.99.

Those burgers include: American Smashed Burger, Ruby’s Cheeseburger, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Blackened Fish Sandwich, and the Impossible Burger.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack is also getting in on the National Cheeseburger Day deals, and you don’t have to be a rewards member to take advantage of this one.

On Sept. 18, customers can get a $5 ShackBurger or Cheeseburger with any purchase by using the code BURGERDAY. The code can be used through the Shake Shack app, website, or when you order in person.

Wendy’s

Wendy’s Reward members will receive a special offer on Friday, Sept. 18, allowing them to grab a Dave’s Single Cheeseburger for just $1.99 with any purchase. The single-use offer can be redeemed through the Wendy’s website or app for a limited time.

Whataburger

Whataburger customers will have two big opportunities to take advantage of.

On National Cheeseburger Day, they can get a free Bacon & Cheese Whataburger Jr. with the purchase of a medium fry and a medium drink. Customers who make the qualifying purchase will also be automatically entered for a chance to win Whataburger for a year.

Many other fast-food chains will be participating in National Cheeseburger Day. To find out if your favorite will have any deals going on, check official restaurant websites for more information.
