on Sep 11, 2025

Less than 24 hours after a gunman killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the FBI has released photos of a person of interest.
Charlie Kirk was speaking at a “Prove Me Wrong” Table event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10, when he was killed in front of a crowd of 3000 attendees. Kirk was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Immediately after the shooting, a manhunt ensued, leading to the arrest of two individuals who were subsequently released. Late Wednesday, authorities reported that a manhunt was still underway and encouraged the public to share photos and videos of the event that might help them identify the shooter.
Footage was published by an attendee that showed a dark-clothed individual crouched on the rooftop of a nearby building.
Investigators said Thursday that a high-powered bolt-action rifle they believed was used in the shooting had been found in a nearby wooded area.
The FBI also released photos of the suspected gunman, saying that he appears to be a “college age” male who “blended in well” with the university crowd.

“We were able to track the movements of the shooter. Starting at 11:52 a.m., the subject arrived on campus, shortly away from campus. We have tracked his movements onto the campus, through the stairwells, up to the roof, across the roof to a shooting location,” Robert Bohls, FBI special agent in charge told reporters in a press conference.

Bohls added that after the shooting the individual “jumped off the building and fled.” He left the campus and entered a nearby neighborhood.

“The FBI is also offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk,” the agency wrote on X.
