Flat River Band Releases New Music Video For “Shining Through My Window,” Featuring The McCrary Sisters
on Apr 22, 2022
Brothers Andy, Chad, and Dennijo Sitze grew up in a multi-generational family band. The brothers performed alongside their parents and grandparents from a young age. Together, they held residences at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri and at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Andy, Chad, and Dennijo went on to form their own music group, Flat River Band.
As Flat River Band, they have charted several #1 hits on the bluegrass gospel charts and have opened for artists such as Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, and Rhonda Vincent.
Many were introduced to Flat River Band’s music when their songs were included in the 2018 movie, The Least of These, A Christmas Story. The movie featured Duane Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys, Deborah Allen, and Loretta Lynn‘s granddaughter, Tayla Lynn.
Recently, Flat River Band released a brand-new EP titled Sights and Sounds. The EP is available on the band’s website and can also be found on digital music platforms at sightsandsounds.
Flat River Band’s new EP features a total of five tracks, including their radio single “Shining Through My Window.” The song was written by the trio’s Chad Sitze.
“Shining Through My Window” charted in top three of the PlayMPE Christian Top 20 Streaming Chart on April 10. The song serves as a follow-up to the band’s previous hit, “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love.” Both “Shining Through My Window” and “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love” are featured on the Sights and Sounds EP.
“Shining Through My Window” is a collaboration between Flat River Band and the gospel quartet The McCrary Sisters. This has been a dream-come-true collaboration for the Sitze brothers:
“The brothers and I have always loved The McCrary Sisters,” said Chad Sitze, as quoted in a press release. “Their father was a founding member of the Fairfield Four who we used to listen to and learned songs from when we had our family band. It only made sense to reach out to them and pitch the idea about singing with us. Luckily, they also said yes!”
The McCrary Sisters were equally honored to work with Flat River Band. They shared a statement in a press release, saying:
“To be able to do this song and video with Flat River Band was nothing short of awesome! We had a wonderful time sharing the day with them and shooting the video. It was a true blessing. We are so happy, honored and proud to be a part of this project and share in this song with our brothers in music.”
Flat River Band and the McCrary Sisters recently released their official music video for “Shining Through My Window.” Mark Nicolosi served as the director.
The video premiered throughout the U.S. and internationally on The Heartland Network TV Channel, CMTV Country Music Entertainment on On Demand 365 / Local Now – UK, Hot Country TV in Europe, Hurricane Highway Country TV – Ireland, Center Stage Magazine, and Aim Country Music. It is also available to watch on YouTube.
A special guest appears in in the video for “Shining Through My Window.” That special guest is Jimmie Snow, who plays the role of himself as “a preacher” in the video.
The Sitze brothers recall how their grandpa used to them tell stories about listening to Jimmie’s Friday night Opry show, Grand Ole Gospel Time. Jimmie later owned a video production company, and the Sitze’s family band filmed videos at his studio. So Flat River Band was beyond honored to have Jimmie participate in their new music video all these years later.
