The CMT Music Awards are unlike any other awards show in the country music industry. For starters, the Awards only recognize music videos and performances, nothing else!
Winners at the CMA and ACM Awards are picked by a committee of industry members, but the CMT Music Awards do things differently. All of its awards are fan-voted, making it the only fan-voted awards show in country music.
That means it’s entirely up to fans who takes home the trophies…including the night’s top prize for Video of the Year! It’s likely many of you reading this logged on to CMT’s website to vote for your favorite artists and videos in the lead-up to Wednesday night’s (June 9) ceremony.
