According to the report from CNN, the Kingston police reported that the partygoers were using about 80 pounds of explosives. An explosive called Tannerite, a firearm target that people use for practice at firing ranges comes in a variety of different colors.

The partygoers admitted to police about setting off the explosion. They spoke with a detective and told him they set the explosion off in a quarry next to where they live.

One woman who lives in the area said that the explosion was so powerful that it cracked her home’s foundation and she was not too happy about the incident.

“Absolutely over the top, ridiculous,” Sara Taglieri told CNN. “I’m not upset because I have chalk or confetti blown in my way. “I mean, it was an explosion that rocked my house, my neighbors, my community and my town.”
The person who purchased the explosives and detonated them has turned themselves in and it’s still unclear what he’ll be charged with as of yet. Four people actually died in 2020 due to explosive gender reveal parties. Thankfully, the Kingston police said no one was injured during this one.
