The Grand Ole Opry is organizing a special event to support veterans who are dealing with mental health challenges.

The Grand Ole Opry is known for its long-standing tradition of honoring country music and its artists. Additionally, the Opry regularly hosts events that celebrate and support military personnel and veterans, and this special event is no different.

The show, titled “Face The Fight Night,” aims to raise awareness about the urgent need for help among those who have served in the military. The statistics surrounding veteran mental health are staggering. The suicide rate among veterans is alarmingly 57% higher than that of the general population. Since 2001, over 120,000 veterans have tragically lost their lives to suicide.

“Face The Fight Night,” in partnership with Humana and the Face the Fight initiative, seeks to bring the community together to address these critical issues.

What Is Face The Fight?

Face the Fight is a coalition of corporations, foundations, and nonprofit and veteran-focus organizations “joined together to raise awareness and support for veteran suicide prevention.” Their overall mission is to end the stigma around suicide in the military community by encouraging open conversations and providing support.

Country Music Artists Step Up To Face The Fight

A few special guests will be involved in the Opry’s “Face The Fight Night,” including country music stars Craig Morgan, Trace Adkins, and Coffey Anderson.

Trace Adkins is arguably one of the most patriotic country music artists.

Adkins has supported veteran and military family charities and performed in 11 USO tours since 2002. Expressing his feelings about these tours, he once shared:

“I wish more people would do it. For me, personally, it’s just an opportunity to say thank you and that I support what you guys are doing. It’s as simple as that.”

In September 2019, Adkins even received the Outstanding Civilian Service Award for his charitable work.

You Can Help Too!

Tickets for “Face The Fight Night” start at $53. Proceeds will go towards efforts to prevent veteran suicide and improve mental health resources. Veteran suicide is a hard topic to face, but if we come together, we can create change.

The event will take place on September 10 at 7 p.m. at the Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee. You can purchase your tickets here.
