Guy Hits 2 Deer With New Car, Wins $2M Lotto Same Day

Anthony Dowe from Leland, North Carolina started his day in a downward spiral after hitting two deer with his brand new car on his way to work.

So upset about the situation and ruining his new car, he decided to just go back home and crawl into his bed and sleep. Anthony slept for a while and woke up and remembered that he still had a few lottery tickets to check.

“I woke up and checked my tickets. I checked the fourth ticket and I saw the ‘4’ and then the next number and the next number and the next number,” he told NC Lottery. “I’m like, ‘Wow!’ It was just crazy.”

The chances of having all five white balls matching and winning is about one and 12.6 million chances. Excited about winning a million dollars, Anthony took his Mega Millions ticket down to the store to let them know he won. He then found out that his prize doubled when the 2x Megaplier ticket was drawn for it.

“I went and showed my dad and my mom and everybody was happy,” he said. “It just feels great. I’m just gonna fix things on my mother and father’s house and get my car fixed, pay it off, and pay my niece’s car off.”

After taxes, Anthony received around $1.4 million and he said after paying off those few things he’s going to put the rest in savings.
