Just days after taking the stage for her very first show as part of her new Las Vegas residency, this music star and former Voice coach got emotional talking about Blake Shelton and the love he has for her.

Gwen Stefani has been making headlines recently with a killer brand-new residency show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas that will run through March 2019. The first show debuted on June 27th, 2018 to great fanfare – but there were a few things that happened backstage nobody got to see.

While in the middle of taping the blind auditions for his newest season of The Voice, Stefani’s boyfriend Blake Shelton refused to miss her first show.

“He was so serious about it,” Gwen said to Extra. “He was like ‘I’m gonna make it! Whatever I do…I’m not going to miss it.'”

With that, Shelton was there for her very first night and she even included a part of the show that was in recognition of the hand he’s had in shaping who she is today – and how he’s affected her life.

“Standing in that cowgirl outfit in front of Blake” was her favorite part of the night, she confessed, adding, “That part of the show is my super love note, my, ‘I am so grateful, this is how much you influenced me and gave me life.’”

After that, Stefani explained exactly how Shelton’s love helped heal her heartbreak and what her most recent record, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, meant to her.

“It started off as writing a song that was all about anger and betrayal and pain, and then within eight weeks that I was writing it, my life switched over to falling in love… It went from this to that.”
