Hear The Miracle This “Voice” Star’s Gospel Song Has Given

This young talent used her gorgeous vocals for a special purpose during a recent performance. You might know Kelsie May from Season Eight of The Voice where she joined Team Blake after the blind auditions. She has a country twang that’s unforgettable as her influences include icons Loretta Lynn and Patty Loveless. The young singer/songwriter finds influences through her faith as well, singing her own renditions of gospel songs.

May has been covering gospel melodies for quite some time now. From classic tunes such as “Amazing Grace” and “Down To The River To Pray,” she has used her talent to spread the gospel. Although May has released some killer renditions of famous songs from both genres, she also writes her own music. In hopes of touching the hearts of a hurting community, her newest gospel song “A Wretch Like Me” spoke volumes.

At an ARC Event (Addiction Recovery Care) this past October May shared a beautifully powerful message for everyone in attendance. The meetings aid to reach individuals who feel as though sobriety is an impossible goal. At these ARC Events that take place every month, treatment for addiction is practiced through spiritual enrichment and growth. At the October event, over 700 people showed up in hopes of transforming their lives. With such an incredible turnout, 50+ people were inspired to go up to the altar to be saved by Christ.

May couldn’t have chosen a better place to debut her own gospel song “A Wretch Like Me” than the October ARC Event. Getting up in front of a large crowd with just her vocals and a piano, she spoke the word of God for members of a community who yearned for a relationship with Him. As she began playing and singing, the crowd was moved. When she entered the chorus, members of the audience began to stand up and praise to her melody.

Before she even finished the song, everyone in the audience was standing and praising during her song. It was a truly beautiful moment for the young singer and the members of this community who are facing person heartache in their lives. After her performance, May shared a special message,

“My goal is to show them that there’s a way out, a way around, and a way through it with the help of God. I’ve been given a gift with music and sharing the gospel, so my purpose in life is showing everyone that there’s a greater purpose for their lives too.”
