How To Make Whipped Hot Chocolate
on Dec 29, 2020
Remember the whipped coffee craze? We’re still riding the whipped coffee wave, but we’ve found another delicious beverage that is giving it a run for its money….whipped hot chocolate.
Earlier this year whipped coffee took the world by storm after a TikTok video of someone making it went viral. Many claim that the beverage has long been popular in Asia, but gained worldwide fame after a South Korean actor posted a video of it on TikTok. Thankfully, the process is so simple and requires so few ingredients that we can all recreate it at home.
And, let’s face it…it feels a bit like a science experiment. Who would have thought that beating together coffee, sugar and water would result in a light, frothy delicacy?
Now some creative bloggers have taken things a step further by creating whipped hot chocolate. What exactly is whipped hot chocolate? One reader describes it as “upside-down hot chocolate.” The process is simple. Chocolate whipped cream is scooped onto a cup of hot vanilla milk. The two layers are stirred together to create a classic hot chocolate taste. Dare we say that we prefer whipped hot chocolate to the ever-popular hot chocolate bombs? The flavor is smooth and creamy without being overly sweet.
As if whipped hot chocolate couldn’t be any more awesome, throw in the fact that it’s beautiful to look at and makes for some great Instagram-worthy pictures. And, it requires only a few simple ingredients: Heavy whipping cream, cocoa powder powdered sugar and whole milk (if you want a super rich hot chocolate, swap whole milk for chocolate milk).
