Gunman Opens Fire At Idaho In-N-Out
In-N-Out CEO and owner Lynsi Snyder shared an emotional statement following the horrific shooting at one of the restaurant’s locations in Twin Falls, Idaho Saturday (August 1).
Twin Falls police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed on Sunday (August 2), that three people were killed and seven others injured after the gunman opened fire in the restaurant and surrounding areas. Two of the injured victims remain in critical condition.
“It was a very chaotic scene,” Hicks said during a news conference. “We have literally hundreds of people that were in some way, shape or form in the area of this restaurant at the time.”
Hicks identified the suspected shooter as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.
In-N-Out CEO Shares Emotional Statement
Snyder revealed that an employee who was “taking care of” customers was among those who were tragically killed at the new location.
“My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears I’ve shed,” Snyder posted, adding that the gunman “took the precious lives of our Associate and Customers, innocent people who never saw it coming.”
The Twin Falls location had just opened its doors on July 24. Hicks said the names of the victims will not be released until authorities have confirmed that all of their family members and loved ones have been notified.
Snyder, who took over the company after her late father’s death, has previously said In-N-Out is like family to her.
“IN-N-OUT will be mourning with the families and praying for them as they tread through a very painful season,” Snyder said. “I am no stranger to loss, but this is so incredibly tough, and my heart also goes out to all of the Associates and Customers who were there during this traumatic event.”
