54-year-old Nic Cupac, a talented cameraman who helped maintain rigging equipment that supports cameras for the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 movie, has reportedly died.

Officials said he was found dead in his hotel room in the city of Fes in Morocco and the cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed. However, they believe he died of natural causes.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Nic Cupac, an incredibly talented colleague and member of the film community who will be greatly missed,” a rep for the production told New York Post. “His sudden passing was not production related. Nic was a grip on 2nd unit.”

Nic worked on major films like the Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, and Star Wars franchises and had just recently flown to Morocco to help film Indiana Jones 5.

The movie was originally set to hit the theaters on July 9, 2021, but due to the pandemic, it was pushed back to July 29, 2022.

Walt Disney Studios then later said that it will be coming out in the summer of 2023. However, now with a death on their hands, it’s still unclear if that will further delay the movie from being released on time.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nic’s family and friends.
