Instant Pot Wine Recipe
on Jan 13, 2020
The Instant Pot isn’t our generation’s hottest kitchen gadget for no reason. The programmable multi-cooker replaces up to 9 kitchen appliances and claims to drastically reduce cooking times. From homemade yogurt to one-pot meals, the Instant Pot has easily become something we can’t imagine our lives without.
If the features above weren’t enough to make you fall in love with the Instant Pot, one man’s genius hack for making homemade wine might just win you over. After seeing a viral meme about turning grapes into wine using an Instant Pot, blogger and self-professed Pinterest lover David Murphy took it upon himself to do just that. The only difference was that Murphy used grape juice instead of grapes.
With just three ingredients and the Instant Pot’s “yogurt” function, Murphy created his own homemade wine. But, he warns any vintner-wannabes that you will need some patience to achieve the perfect wine.
“You’re not just going to wake up one day and start throwing juice in your Instant Pot and expect to have wine by the end of the day,” Murphy wrote. “That’s not how it works; however, starting the process off in your Instant Pot will GREATLY reduce the amount of time it takes to have drinkable wine in less time than normal.”
The cooking process takes about 48 before the wine is transferred from the Instant Pot to a bottle where it continues to develop. The writer states that after 8 days the wine is ready to be consumed. But, the beverage is much more enjoyable after at least a month of rest.
Sure, it would be easier to go down to the local liquor store and grab a bottle of your favorite wine. But, where’s the fun in that? We can’t wait to try it for ourselves using different juice varieties.
