Summer is almost here and we can’t wait any longer! We’ve brought out our favorite frozen summer treat and ramped it up with a not-so-secret method that gives them even more of a whiskey kick.

One simple trick eliminates the guesswork about how much alcohol to add to the popsicles. Because alcohol doesn’t freeze solid, you may end up with a slush instead of a popsicle. To avoid a slushy mess, simply boil the whiskey to cook off some of the alcohol. In addition, you end up with a stronger whiskey flavor due to the beverage being reduced.

For a creamier popsicle, some heavy cream is added to the pops. The result is an irresistible adult treat that will help you keep your cool all summer long!

JACK & COKE FLOAT POPSICLES

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
1 – 16.9 oz. bottle Coca-Cola
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

INSTRUCTIONS
Bring whiskey to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until reduced by half. Remove from heat and add Coke. Allow to sit for 30 minutes so Coke will go flat.

Spoon 1 Tablespoon of heavy whipping cream into the bottom of each popsicle mold before adding coke mixture. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze at least 6 hours or overnight.

NOTE: For classic Jack & Coke Popsicles, omit heavy cream.

ENJOY!

Makes approximately 8 popsicles.
