Legendary Rockstar Ozzy Osbourne Dies At Age 76
Iconic musician and former frontman of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, passed away on July 22nd at the age of 76. His family confirmed the tragic news in a statement, which read:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning [July 22]. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
On August 5th, Ozzy Osbourne’s death certificate revealed his official cause of death. The rockstar had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease more than two years prior, and while that was a contributing factor, he ultimately died of a heart attack.
Jack Osbourne Shares How He Learned The Tragic News
Ozzy Osbourne’s 39-year-old son, Jack, revealed in a new YouTube video that he was at his home in Los Angeles at the time of his father’s death. He recalled being woken by a knock on his door in the early hours of the morning.
“Someone who has worked for my family for probably 30 years was knocking on my door, and when I looked through my window and I saw it was him, I just knew something bad had happened. I was informed that my father had passed.”

Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest at his home in Buckinghamshire on August 1st, one day after an emotional funeral procession made its way through Birmingham.
Jack Describes Ozzy’s Death As Unexpected
Jack explained that in the weeks following Ozzy’s death, his priority was taking care of his family and “digesting” what had happened. He admits:
“No one expected it to happen as quickly as it did, and when it did. It was not anything that was on our radar.”
The iconic rockstar’s death came just weeks after his farewell concert on July 5th. During the performance, he reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Jack held back tears as he said of his dad:
“He meant a lot to a lot of people. He was loved so much. A lot of people are going to miss him.”
