When country singer Jake Owen heard the news of a loss of one of his most devoted, he took to Instagram this week to share his heartfelt appreciation.
Most well-known for his relaxed, beach-inspired sound, Jake is best known for chart-topping singles such as “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Beachin’,” and “American Country Love Song.”
Due to the fact that he’s been around the country music scene for a few decades now, Jake has quite the loyal fan base that has stuck with him for years.
Jake Owen Posts Emotional Tribute
On Monday (April 27), Jake posted an incredibly emotional, heartfelt tribute for a major supporter in his life named Misty.
“My dear friend @misty_stodghill went home to Heaven today,” Jake wrote. “I met her years ago at a show, and she became one of the most loyal souls in my life—always there, cheering us on, with that unforgettable smile. I’ll never forget the day she inked my signature on her leg.”
Jake then shared a carousel of images with Misty, which appears to be before and after his shows. The country singer noted how the young woman wasn’t just a fan, but “a true friend.”
“Life feels so fragile tonight. My heart aches for her family. Misty, thank you for the light you brought. They say, you’ll need an angel flying by your side on the journey of your life … I believe Misty was an angel in a lot of peoples lives, not just mine. I’ll see you again. All my love, Jake.”
Misty’s family and friends took to the comment section, thanking Jake for his influence in her life over the years.
“Such a beautiful tribute. Her friendship was a blessing to so many of us. I have countless memories with her,” one of Misty’s friends wrote.
Misty’s social media account was full of photos and memories with the country music singer as well.
“At a loss of words, this would mean the world to my aunt Mimi. She absolutely was your number one fan. From the entire Stodghill family thank you for such a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul❤️,” a family member commented.
