Jelly Roll & Allie Colleen Perform “Save Me” Under Pouring Rain
on Dec 11, 2024
Jelly Roll is currently on his Beautifully Broken Tour
The singer kicked the tour off on August 27th with special guests Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay. Zeiders and Kay joined him on the road until October 27. Then, ERNEST, Shaboozey, and Allie Colleen took their place from October 30th until the end of the tour on November 23.
This tour was considered Allie Colleen’s “biggest break” in her music career. When announcing this tour, Colleen, who is Garth Brooks’ daughter, wrote on social media, “BEAUTIFULLY LOSING MY MIND [RIGHT NOW].”
Jelly Roll closed every show with his emotional song “Save Me”
During his whole tour, Jelly Roll performed 20 songs including a cover of Toby Keith’s “Who’s Your Daddy.” He closed every show of the tour with “Save Me,” which he first released in 2020. He remixed the song and made it into a duet with Lainey Wilson in 2023. They premiered it at the 2023 ACM Awards.
Since Lainey Wilson was not on the tour with him, Jelly Roll mostly performed the song solo, but he did add some dramatic effects during the show! Every night, he stood below a set of a burning house and for the final song, rain began pouring down. Since most of the shows were held indoors, the rain was manufactured, but looked very realistic if you didn’t know it was inside!
Allie Colleen joined Jelly Roll on “Save Me” during the final tour date
At the November 23rd show in Jacksonville, Florida at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena, Jelly Roll began “Save Me” with the rain pouring down on him. After the first verse, he welcomed Allie Colleen back to the stage. She came on earlier that evening to perform Jessie Murph’s “Wild Ones” with him.
While she is not Lainey Wilson, she has as much soul in her voice as Wilson does, and she sang the lyrics as though she wrote them herself.
You can tell she had fun singing in the rain and connecting with the crowd on such a powerful song. Colleen posted a clip of the performance on social media alongside the caption, “I cannot say enough. I am so grateful for the opportunities and the memories.”
