Actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas Detained
Actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas has been detained for resisting arrest during a traffic stop. According to TMZ, the 45 year old was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over in Westlake Village, California, on Monday (September 21).
According to law enforcement, the former Home Improvement star got out of the vehicle after deputies instructed him to remain inside and allegedly failed to comply with their commands. He was also reportedly intoxicated in public, sources said.
Records obtained by TMZ reveal Thomas was taken to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and released shortly afterward.
Who Is Jonathan Taylor Thomas?
Thomas is best known for his role as Randy Taylor, the middle son on Home Improvement. He starred alongside Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson from 1991 to 1998.
The former actor was also the voice of young Simba in Disney’s 1994 animated classic The Lion King. He appeared in movies including Man of the House, Tom and Huck, Wild America and I’ll Be Home for Christmas.
After leaving Home Improvement, Thomas attended Harvard University and the University of St Andrews before graduating from Columbia University in 2010.
Thomas has largely stayed out of the spotlight in his adult years, although he was seen in a recent photo reuniting with former Home Improvement co-stars Patricia Richardson and Taran Noah Smith in July 2026.
