The Voice / Facebook

Our good friend Karen Waldrup has made it to one of the biggest singing shows there is – The Voice!

We have known Karen for many years, since before her cover of “I Hope You Dance” reached over 50 million people on our Facebook page.

She has filmed many sessions with us and has accumulated over 250,000 views on the Country Rebel YouTube channel alone.

On February 16, Karen shared a video on her social media pages that revealed she would not only appear on The Voice, but she would be chosen to join someone’s team!

The video shows her tell new coaches Dan + Shay that she was in the audience when they performed at The Grammys for the first time. As the camera showed Dan talking to her about that experience, and relating it to her professionalism, we saw Reba’s chair lit up with white lights, just like Dan + Shay’s, meaning we believe she will have to choose between Team Reba and Team Dan + Shay!

On February 25, the singer-songwriter once again reminded fans that she is appearing on the upcoming season of The Voice.

“You definitely don’t want to miss this week on The Voice! Love y’all & thank you so much for all your support during this journey!” she captioned the post.

Karen wowed all the coaches when she performed Jo Dee Messina’s “Bye Bye” in classic 90s country style.

Karen wasted no time capturing a coach’s attention, with Dan + Shay pressing the big red button only seconds into her song. Carson Daly, The Voice host, was surprised, turning to Karen’s family, “That was fast!”

A few moments later, Coach Reba also turned her chair around with a smile, only to be blocked by Dan + Shay’s strategic move. They playfully serenaded Reba, singing, “Bye bye, bye bye my Reba bye, bye,” before welcoming Karen to their team.

“What a great song to pick. I know Jo Dee’s going to be so thrilled to hear this. You did a wonderful job,” Reba expressed.

Dressed in a silver sparkly fringe jacket, Karen certainly commanded the stage during her audition, proving that the stage is where she’s meant to be.
