Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Call It Quits After 19 Years Of Marriage
Country star Keith Urban took to social media on Saturday (June 20) to seemingly send a birthday message to his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, as the actress celebrated her 59th birthday.
Last September, reports surfaced that the former couple had separated after 19 years of marriage. Court documents later confirmed that Kidman filed for divorce in the Davidson County Circuit Court in Tennessee on September 30.
“Irreconcilable differences” was listed as the reason for the couple’s separation on the divorce complaint.
Urban and Kidman share two daughters, Sunday (age 17) and Faith (age 14). The Tennessean reported at the time that Kidman was granted primary paternal rights, meaning the girls will spend 306 days of the year with her and 59 with Urban.
The Former Couple’s Love Story
The news of the couple’s divorce came as a surprise to many fans, as the two were often seen sharing affectionate moments on the red carpet and publicly supporting each other’s careers throughout their marriage.
Urban and Kidman first met in January 2005 at the G’Day LA event honoring Australia, began dating six months later, and were married on June 25, 2006, in Sydney, Australia.
Since then, Urban has often shared how Kidman was instrumental in helping him get sober.

While the former couple has not been seen in public together since news of their divorce broke, they have largely remained private and out of the spotlight.
However, the pair appears to have remained cordial, as Urban seemingly wished Kidman a happy birthday on his Instagram Stories.
The country singer wrote a simple but straightforward, “happy birthday nicole mary” in all lowercase. It appears this was meant to be directed at his ex-wife as her name is Nicole Mary Kidman.
