After seven successful seasons, The Kelly Clarkson Show is coming to an end.

The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019 and quickly became one of the hottest shows on television. Hosted by the American Idol winner, the variety show featured celebrity appearances, musical performances, and interviews with everyday people.

Over the course of the show’s seven-season, 1,131-episode run, it earned 22 Daytime Emmy Awards. Four of those trophies went to Kelly for Outstanding Talk Show Host and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

Rumors began circulating in 2025 that Clarkson’s self-titled talk show would be coming to an end when her contract with NBC Universal expires at the end of Season 7. In mid-January, sources shared that the “Because Of You” singer wanted out and that the show was no longer sustainable.

The official announcement about The Kelly Clarkson Show’s future came on Monday, February 2.

The announcement was made on social media with a post that read:

“This season will be my last hosting TKCS. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she wrote. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time…you never know where I might show up next.”

The end of The Kelly Clarkson Show comes after the host dealt with a series of personal issues in recent years, including her highly-publicized divorce from Brandon Blackstock and his death in 2025.

Blackstock was married to Kelly Clarkson from 2013 until their divorce was finalized in 2022. The couple shared two children: River and Remington.

The talent manager died in early August at the age of 48 after a valiant battle against cancer. Blackstock’s illness caused Clarkson to cancel her Las Vegas residency and miss some scheduled tapings of her talk show. She kept the reason for her unexpected absences private until the day before Brandon’s death.

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” Clarkson wrote in a statement shared to social media at the time.

In a recent video posted to her talk show’s YouTube channel, Kelly shared an update on how her kids are doing and made it clear that they are her priority.

“There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit. So it’s my two dogs, my two kids, and me. It’s a lot.” Clarkson said in the video. “It’s been really special, though, because it’s like the conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day.”

Kelly Clarkson’s departure from her talk show likely isn’t the end of her television career.

Kelly Clarkson has made a name for herself as one of the most respected personalities on stage and television. Beloved for her humor, wit, and realness, Clarkson has built an impressive small-screen resume.

In addition to her run on American Idol more than 20 years ago, Clarkson was one of the most popular coaches to ever occupy a red chair on The Voice. And in 2025 she hosted Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson, a four-episode series in which she sat down with musical artists to perform and talk about some of their greatest hits.

Clarkson will be returning to The Voice for its 29th season titled “Battle of Champions.” The new format will feature three returning coaches: Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine.

The new season is set to premiere on February 23, 2026.
