Kid Rock Performs At Turning Point USA’s Alternative Super Bowl Halftime Show
Each year, the Super Bowl draws from some of the world’s biggest musical stars to put on a highly anticipated halftime show. However, fans were given a second option this year. This move came in response to dissatisfaction over the selection of Spanish-speaking musician Bad Bunny as the official NFL Super Bowl performer.
Turning Point USA, the organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk, presented the “All-American Halftime Show,” which was streamed simultaneously across YouTube, TBN, and other avenues. Brantley Gilbert, Gabby Barrett, Lee Brice, and Kid Rock performed for the high-energy show.
The live broadcast drew more than 6 million concurrent viewers on YouTube, and, at the time of publication, total video views had surpassed 19 million.
Ahead of the show, Kid Rock hinted that fans should “expect the unexpected” for his upcoming performance, adding that he was going to “flip and do a 180.” He told Fox & Friends:
“Musically, I know that nothing beats a great song. That’s the most powerful thing. No performance, no pyro, [and] no lighting will beat a great song.”
He began with a rowdy performance of his 1999 single “Bawitdaba.” He then changed the mood dramatically and gave a surprise performance of Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t.”

Kid Rock Releases Cover Of Hit Cody Johnson Song
Moments after the show ended, Kid Rock announced on social media that his version of “‘Til You Can’t,” would be released this morning (February 9). Along with the announcement, he wrote:
“A big thank you to Cody Johnson and the songwriters Ben Stennis and Matt Rogers for giving me [their] blessing to record and release it. It really is one of the best written songs I have heard in a long time and NOTHING is more powerful than a great song in my book!”
Cody Johnson released the inspirational song in October 2021 as the lead single from his eighth studio album Human: The Double Album. The song went on to win two CMA Awards in 2022 and the Grammy Award for Best Country Song in 2023.
It sends a message of encouragement to live life to the fullest and take advantage of the time you are given, as no one knows how much time they will have.
Kid Rock’s version of the song includes a brand-new verse he wrote himself and performed during the TPUSA show. The lyrics read:
“There’s a book that’s sitting in your house somewhere
That could use some dusting off
There’s a man who died for all our sins
Hanging from the cross
You can give your life to Jesus
And he’ll give you a second chance
‘Til you can’t…”
