"The Tucker Carlson Encounter"

During a recent conversation with Tucker Carlson, Kid Rock expressed his belief that Bud Light made a mistake and he’s over it.

“Do I wanna hold their head underwater and drown them because they made a mistake?” he said. “No, I think they got the message.”

The boycott against Bud Light had emerged following the company’s collaboration with transgender star Dylan Mulvaney. Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, enlisted Mulvaney to endorse their March Madness contest.

Back in April of 2023, Mulvaney, with a substantial following of 1.7 million on Instagram, shared a video unveiling the partnership. In the footage, the influencer enjoyed a sip of Bud Light while showcasing a specially designed can featuring her face.

Kid Rock’s Bold Response To The Partnership

There was plenty of backlash on social media from the collab, including from Kid Rock, who appeared to be boycotting the brand at that time.

He posted a video to Instagram in which he shot up cases of Bud Light with a machine gun while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

“F*** Bud Light and f**** Anheuser-Busch. Have a terrific day,” he said.

Kid Rock Now Reflects On Bud Light Boycott: “They Deserved A Black Eye”

Kid Rock appeared on the first episode of Tucker Carlson’s newest show The Tucker Carlson Encounter, which was released on Sunday, December 10. He discussed his shifting mindset on the Bud Light situation.

“At the end of the day when you step back and look at it, like, ‘Yeah. They deserved a black eye and they got one. They made a mistake.’”

Kid Rock emphasized that although he acknowledges the sacrifices people made for the right to be true to oneself, companies should remain mindful of their brand identity and the demographics of their consumers.

“I know who my consumers are,” he told Carlson. “I was doing a little marketing to my folks, that was spot on for me but also a fun excuse to get my machine gun out and have some fun but also to make a statement, ‘Hey a lot of people aren’t cool with this.'”

Carlson Questions Kid Rock’s Drink Choice

Carlson noticed the drink in Kid Rock’s cup definitely wasn’t Bud Light and pointed out that he saw it being poured. He then casually asked him if he has drank one since all this began.

“Dude, my whole life has become Bud Light. Every one of my friends thinks it’s a joke to bring me a 12-pack…I’ll drink any kind of cold, free beer. Let’s put it that way.”

“They screwed up, they made a mistake,” he said. “I’m over it.”
