The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told NBC4 Los Angeles that a car crash was “reported just before 1 p.m. in the 25000 block of Pacific Coast Highway.”

Simmons crashed his vehicle, a Lincoln Navigator, into a parked car. A witness called 911 and authorities including deputies and firefighters responded to the scene.

The rocker, 76, told the authorities that he “passed out or fainted” before hitting the parked car.

Simmons Was Taken To the Hospital

Although he was speaking to authorities after the crash, he was still taken to the hospital to be checked out.

He was released shortly after and his wife, Shannon Tweed, told NBC4 that he was recovering at home.

She believes the reason for the crash was because Simmons’ doctors recently changed his medications and he may need to drink more water.

Tweed revealed that Simmons’ vehicle “careened across several lanes of traffic in the crash” and confirmed he did “pass out.”

Simmons left a voicemail for NBC4, stating that he is “doing fine.”

Gene currently performs as Gene Simmons Band follows KISS’s retirement in 2023. He doesn’t have any tour dates scheduled, so he has plenty of time to recover. We wish Gene nothing but the best.
