Lady A’s New Song Shares Message Of Faith Amid Charles Kelley’s Cancer Diagnosis

Lady A knew they had something very special on their hands the first time they heard the demo for “Bigger Picture.”
That’s why, despite having no plans to release new music in 2026, the country group went to the studio to record the song themselves. They released the track to all music streaming platforms on Wednesday, October 28.
Written by Trannie Anderson, Devin Dawson, Paul Sikes, and Andy Albert, “Bigger Picture” is a faith-based ballad about trusting God’s plan and holding on to hope, even in life’s most painful moments.
The lyrics remind listeners that although we may not understand why things happen the way they do, God always has a reason.
The song’s chorus goes:
“It’s hard to believe it when all that we’re seeing / Is one little frame at a time / Yeah we all have our version of our picture perfect / But He has one better in mind / There’s days when I doubt it got questions about it / But God knows I gotta believe / He’s painting a bigger picture for me”
Lady A Says Their New Song Is “Carrying Us” Amid Charles Kelley’s Cancer Diagnosis
At the time, though, Lady A had no idea the song would soon take on a much more personal meaning. In an Instagram post, they revealed that just one week after recording the track, band member Charles Kelley learned he had cancer.
“The day before we went into the studio to finish up our next record, this song was sent to Hillary,” Lady A wrote. “We cut it the next day and then, a week later, we learned of Charles’ cancer diagnosis.”
On September 29, Kelley shared a video to his social media revealing he had been diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma.
Lady A continued, “God’s timing in allowing this song to find us and the message behind it is truly carrying us right now and we can’t help but think some of y’all might need to hear it too. We trust there’s a bigger picture.”
“Bigger Picture” is actually the first song that the band has released from their upcoming tenth studio album.
Lady A is keeping details about the new project quiet, so we don’t have an official release date yet. They are currently in the studio working on the album, so it may drop sometime next year.
