Lainey Wilson Sings Elvis’s “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” At Graceland

Lainey Wilson channeled Elvis as she performed his holiday hit “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” for the first-ever Christmas at Graceland TV special.

Live from the home of Elvis Presley, Lainey joined some of music’s biggest stars including Lana Del Rey, Post Malone, Kane Brown, Kacey Musgraves, John Legend, Alanis Morissette, and The War And Treaty! Known for her hit song “Heart Like a Truck,” the Louisiana native has been winning the hearts of country music fans for a few years now with her bell bottoms and adorable hats.

While Lainey has been on the country music scene for several years, this year has been her best year yet.

Lainey has had an amazing year winning numerous awards at the CMAs and AMAs, and continues to blow us away as Abby on the popular TV series Yellowstone. Lainey Wilson made history this year receiving more nominations than any other artist at the 2023 CMA Awards. She was nominated for nine different awards making her the fourth artist in the history of the CMAs to earn nine nominations. Wilson also received the highest number of nominations at the 2022 CMA Awards which was her first year being nominated. This makes Lainey Wilson the first artist in CMA history to earn the highest number of nominations their first two years on the ballad.

“Christmas Cookies”

When fans hear the name Lainey Wilson, they don’t usually think of Christmas songs. However, did you know Miss Wilson released a cover of a George Strait Christmas song in 2021? “Christmas Cookies” is the perfect blend of country and Christmas. While George Strait set the bar high, Lainey gave us a brilliant rendition of the song that we can’t get enough of. This twangy Christmas song is guaranteed to have you craving some Christmas cookies!

Lainey paid tribute to Elvis by singing “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” from Elvis’ Christmas Album.

The song was recorded by Elvis in 1957 and served as the opening track on Elvis’ Christmas Album, the best-selling holiday album of all time in the U.S. “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” is considered a rock and roll Christmas standard, so it was only fitting that Lainey Wilson cover it for the inaugural Christmas At Graceland television special.

Dressed in head to toe red, including her signature bell bottoms, a cowboy hat and cape, Lainey Wilson’s performance was filmed in front of Elvis’s former home and a backdrop of vintage vehicles.
