This 2025 Super Bowl Performance Had A Distinctly New Orleans Sound

Lauren Daigle is a genre-bending artist who creates Christian music that has made waves in secular culture.

Daigle released her first album in 2015, How Can It Be, which quickly jumped to No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. Her 2018 album release, Look Up Child, charted in the Top 10 of both the Pop and Christian charts at the same time. This made Daigle the first woman to ever achieve that acclaim.

In recent years, Daigle has released a self-named album, Lauren Daigle, in 2023 and a Session album released in August of 2024.

Her most recent single is titled “Thank God I Do,” which she performed on America’s Got Talent. Watch her performance below.

Lauren Daigle Performs At The 2025 Super Bowl

This Super Bowl performance marks a monumental moment for the Christian singer. In 2020, she was “canceled” by the mayor of New Orleans for singing at a worship event. The worship event was run by Sean Feucht, who was protesting the Covid lockdowns.

The New Orleans Mayor caused Lauren Daigle to get bummed from  Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Daigle shared on Arroyo Grande’s podcast that singing at this year’s Super Bowl will be “vindication.”

The Louisiana native took the stage as the Chiefs and the Eagles faced off in New Orleans. On Sunday, February 9th, in Caesars Superdome, Daigle stepped up to perform “America the Beautiful” alongside Trombone Shorty.

The duo performed with a New Orleans flair.

Paired with a trombone and jazz forward sound, it is safe to say you have never heard “America the Beautiful” like this.
