Luke Bryan’s Son, Bo, Commits To Play College Football

Luke Bryan’s oldest son, Thomas “Bo” Boyer Bryan, is quickly making a name for himself on the football field.

The 18-year-old is one of two sons Luke shares with his wife, Caroline. While the country superstar has largely kept his family life out of the spotlight, Bo is beginning to draw attention for his own accomplishments as a rising football player.

Back in August, Bo made his ESPN debut while playing for Battle Ground Academy (BGA) in Franklin, Tennessee. The team secured an impressive victory over St. Michael Catholic School of Alabama, putting Bo in the spotlight as he launches his football career.

Since then, Bo has continued to dominate on the football field. The young quarterback has racked up more than 2,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns this season alone.

Several college programs offered Bo full-ride scholarship offers. Among some of the schools were Tennessee Tech, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, and the University of North Alabama.

For Luke, watching his son excel in the sport has been especially meaningful. The country star has described seeing Bo take the football field as a “dream come true.”

Although multiple schools sent offers to Bo, when he received an offer from the University of Georgia, the 18-year-old immediately made his decision.

Just five days after receiving the offer, Bo accepted to continue his football career as a Bulldog. According to On3, the young quarterback committed while still on the phone with Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

“As soon as I got the call, I knew,” he said. “I knew that I was ready to do it. I literally committed on the phone with Coach Bobo. It was literally a dream come true.”

Luke Bryan’s Sweet Reaction To Bo Playing Football At His Dream School

Bo’s love for the Georgia Bulldogs goes all the way back to his childhood, thanks in large part to his dad. Luke has been a longtime fan of the team and previously appeared as a celebrity guest picker on ESPN’s College GameDay when the show visited Athens.

So its no surprise that Luke is feeling all the emotions as Bo prepares to play at his favorite school. Talking with former football player and podcast host David Pollack, Luke said he has never been more proud to be Bo’s father.

The country star recalled how his own father once told him how proud he was of his success in music. Now, he has the opportunity to share that same pride with Bo as his son begins his own journey.

“To watch his determination and his mental focus through all this, it’s just been an amazing process,” Luke shared.

Luke said the entire family was in complete disbelief and elated once Bo got off the call receiving his offer.

“I will gladly answer to the title of Bo Bryan’s dad, forever,” Luke said, getting emotional.

Along with their two biological sons, Luke and his wife have raised his late sister Kelly’s three children, Jordan, Kris, and Til, after she and her husband passed away in 2014.
