Luke Bryan’s Wife Caroline Explains Why She Needed Hip Surgery

Luke Bryan‘s wife, Caroline, recently underwent an “unexpected hip surgery.”

Caroline shared a photo of herself giving two thumbs up in her hospital bed. She captioned it, “Well…unexpected hip surgery….but I got the best care and surrounded by the most selfless friends ever!”

Just days before Caroline shared her surgery news, she seemed perfectly fine while walking the red carpet with Luke at the CMA Awards. She wore a stunning leopard print dress and Luke wore a classic black tux.

Luke co-hosted the ceremony with Peyton Manning and also performed his hit single “Country On.”

Naturally, Caroline’s followers wondered why she had to undergo surgery. Caroline finally explained the reason behind the operation in a video on her Instagram Story. We don’t have the video here for you because Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours. But we did keep track of everything Caroline said.

She clarified that the surgery was not “unexpected” like she wrote in her first post about the operation. It was a scheduled surgery, she just wasn’t ready for it yet.

“I said unexpected surgery. It wasn’t unexpected surgery,” she said. “It wasn’t unexpected, I just wasn’t ready to accept it.”

Caroline said she knew about the surgery for a month. “There was no emergency, no fall, no car wreck” or other incident that led to her needing the operation.

Instead, Caroline said she “had a torn labrum, hip dysplasia, and a lot of arthritis. It had gotten so bad that we just had to fix it.”

Caroline is now getting around in a wheelchair and is trying to take it easy so she can make a full recovery. We’ll be keeping her in our prayers!
