Luke Combs is among many artists who’ve had all their concerts canceled for an unknown period of time as a result of the nationwide quarantine. That hasn’t stopped the North Carolina native from keeping in touch with his fans by performing for them every week via Instagram Live.

During one of Luke’s mini-concerts, viewers got to witness him performing a cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1988 hit song “Fast Car.”

The song was released on April 6, 1988, as the lead single from her self-titled debut studio album. It has been covered by many popular artists such as Jonas Blue, Justin Bieber, and Levi Hummon.

Luke’s live performances take place in his garage somewhere in the middle of Tennessee. For one show, he even had his fiancée Nicole Hocking join in to answer questions submitted by viewers.

During each livestream, Luke supports different charities and organizations while encouraging people to stay safe. In the video where he covers “Fast Car” Luke tells the people watching,

“Just trying to take your mind off of things a little bit, and have some fun myself.”

Luke played 4 songs that night and because so many fans requested a full video of the song, he decided to repost it.

“I heard y’all… Here’s a full cover of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car.”
