Luke Combs Shocked By Carrie Underwood – She Reveals He Won ACM Award

The instant he picked up the phone, he knew the voice sounded familiar – but what the person on the other end had to say gave him one of the biggest surprises of his career!

Luke Combs has been witnessing the incredible success of his hard work on his debut album, This One’s for You, and it was just certified 2x Platinum a couple of weeks ago. But, today, he was blessed with an amazing honor – and it was delivered straight from Carrie Underwood herself!

Nominated for two great awards in 2019, Luke Combs was definitely on everyone’s radar – especially after seeing all five of his first singles go straight to the top of the charts!

Moreover, from the massive popularity of his music and its ensuing chart performance, Combs became the first artist to have his first five number one hits on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart – and he also took the top spot on several other charts along the way.

On top of all of this, Combs was also nominated for his first Grammy during the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in February 2019. To say this has been a year of firsts for this rising country star is an understatement!

The 2019 ACM Awards will air live on Sunday, April 7th and Combs received two nominations this year: for New Male Artist of The Year and Male Artist of The Year.

In an early twist, the ACMs announced several early winners – and it looks like Combs will be walking that red carpet with already one in his belt!

Lined up as one of the ACM Awards incredible performers, Luke Combs was just hanging out making some breakfast yesterday (Sunday, March 24th, 2019) when he got a phone call from Carrie Underwood – definitely something he wasn’t expecting, but it didn’t end there!

Luke’s team – who was ready to film the whole thing – knew what was going down and they wanted to make sure they captured his exact reaction to the news Underwood was announcing.

“Is this Luke Combs?” Underwood asked.

“It is…” He said with a bit of curiosity. “I can only imagine what’s about to happen.”

Just a few seconds later and she revealed to him (and the world) that he was the brand new ACM New Male Artist Of The Year.

“I was NOT expecting that!” he shouted gleefully.

You could see the excitement wash all over his face as he realized just how amazing the honor was and in a follow up social media post, Combs said that this is “a dream come true” adding that he’s so very thankful for all of his supporters.
