Mantis Shrimp Punches Through Fisherman’s Boot & Draws Blood

YouTuber and fisherman who goes by Mr. Markus shared a video of himself getting punched in the foot by a mantis shrimp he just reeled out of the ocean.
The footage showed Mr. Markus sitting in his canoe reeling in his line and revealing to his viewers that he had just caught the mantis shrimp.
As he used a tool to remove the hook from the shrimp, he dropped the creature in the bottom of his boat for just a few seconds and that’s when it happened.
The shrimp grabbed onto his water boot and punched straight through it cutting a hole in the material. He let out a painful “ouch” as he moved his foot away from the creature and held it up in the air.
Astonished at the shrimp’s attack, he says, “Ouch. That really hurt. That thing just grabbed onto me and smashed my foot. He just punched through my brand new booties.”
A mantis shrimp is said to have the most powerful punch in the entire animal kingdom punching more than 60 miles per hour.
“That’s proof right there of the power of the mantis shrimp,” Mr. Markus said.
He proceeded to take his boot off to inspect the damage and sure enough, there was a puncture wound on his foot. Blood even started to pour from it.
