Publications wrote about her post and her post-baby body, which she says she is “proud” of. The Sun was one of those publications, and accidentally reported that Morris’ husband and father of her son, Hayes, was Luke Bryan and not her actual husband, singer Ryan Hurd.

The Sun wrote, ‘”Earlier this month the hot mama, who gave birth to her first child with husband Luke Bryan in March 2020, shared a thoughtful post about her post-baby body.”

Morris took notice and on her Instagram stories, she posted a screenshot of the article and wrote, “I guess the cat’s outta the bag @lukebryan.”

Hurd, who is a co-writer of Bryan’s current single “Waves,” also posted the article to his Instagram stories and jokingly wrote, “DAMN YOU @LUKEBRYAN I DEMAND A PATERNITY TEST.”

The publication has since fixed their error, but not before it started gaining traction! Luke Bryan stopped by The Ellen Show Tuesday (May 4) and finally addressed these rumors. Ellen said, “You know what you don’t address [in upcoming documentary], which I was hoping you’d address, is being the father of Maren Morris’ child, why don’t you talk about that?”

Luke laughed, and then began to explain, “So I’m having coffee and my mother calls me. She says, ‘ I’m sittin’ here reading some gossip thing…it says you fathered Maren Morris’ child!’

He said, “Oh my gosh! I do not need this today!” The singer said he then forwarded his mom’s text right to Hurd, saying they have to talk!

But he cleared everything up, looking directly at the camera, “I am not the father! We can call Maury Povich in or however you wanna go about it!”

We’re glad everyone is such a good sport about this blunder! Watch Bryan address it in the video below.
